How it works
We've all been there... A free agent player has a massive week or someone ahead of them on the depth chart gets seriously injured. You could really use this player on your team but you have to first play the waiver wire FAAB game. You could get outbid or overbid and blow a ton of your FAAB.
What if there was an easier way? Cherry Picker doesn't have this kind of stress in their life. They get the benefit of "cherry picking" a player from waivers for $0 before anyone can claim them. They get a stud waiver wire darling and the added bonus of destroying everyone else's waiver wire claims!
Usage limits
Usage Limit: This manager can cherry pick a maximum of 4 times (4 players total) across the regular season, plus exactly 1 additional pick for the entire playoffs, granted at playoff entry. Unused regular-season picks do not carry over into the playoffs — the playoff allowance is exactly 1 regardless of regular-season usage.
What the budget means
Stronger powers start you with less money. In an Extreme league, a team holding Cherry Picker drafts with $200 of auction budget against the $200 baseline. Either way it starts the season with $400 of free-agent bidding money. Choosing a power is choosing a trade-off.
