How it works
With only $1 auction players and $100 FAAB, this team might look like a joke to start the season. They will have to carefully "trashpick" the bottom of the bin in the draft & weekly waivers to figure out a way to win with replacement level players.
However, if the Trashpicking Vampire can manage to get their fangs into a few unsuspecting opponents, they could grow to be unstoppable. Every time this team wins, they get to steal any player who started from the team they defeated.
This power adds strategy for the opponent as well. If they are afraid of losing a superstar player, it may be in their best interest to bench the player and try winning without them but if they are confident enough they might be willing to risk their best player playing against the Trashpicking Vampire.
What the budget means
Stronger powers start you with less money. In an Extreme league, a team holding Trashpicking Vampire drafts with $13 of auction budget against the $200 baseline. Either way it starts the season with $100 of free-agent bidding money. Choosing a power is choosing a trade-off.
Normal leagues draft snake, so there is no auction budget to spend — see the rules for the full comparison.
