How it works
"Forgive & forget" is not a catchphrase you would apply to the Bounceback Avenger. The Bounceback Avenger holds a grudge when they lose and uses that motivation to propel them to victory the next week.
The Avenger's power activates any week following a loss. To get their power bonus, the Avenger must score more fantasy points in the current week than the team that defeated them in the previous week. During these weeks the Bounceback Avenger will certainly be scoreboard watching.
Example:
- Week 1: Team A defeats Bounceback Avenger
- Week 2: The Avenger scores more week 2 points than Team A & gets their power bonus
If they successfully avenge their loss, the Avenger will receive either a 20% bonus added to their current week's score or $50 in FAAB money. The challenge is they need to pick their potential reward before the current week's games start. If they need the FAAB, do they feel confident winning this week without that potential 20% bonus??

What the budget means
Stronger powers start you with less money. In an Extreme league, a team holding Bounceback Avenger drafts with $200 of auction budget against the $200 baseline. Either way it starts the season with $500 of free-agent bidding money. Choosing a power is choosing a trade-off.
