How it works
Bruce Wayne & Tony Stark have nearly unlimited resources. While many teams have the challenge of drafting with less than the standard $200 during the auction, Old Money laughs at them as they splurge on up to $250 of the finest fantasy football players available.
Old Money's downfall is that they start the year with only $250 FAAB but they have many ways to acquire more FAAB. They have an additional advantage of using their upper-class connections to convert FAAB into real-life fantasy points. For every $1 FAAB they designate for use, they will receive 0.2 fantasy points for their current weekly matchup. This reduces to .15 points/$1 in the playoffs. Old Money can convert a maximum of $100 per week.
Old Money will have to decide if they want to use their precious FAAB on free agents, convert a little each week for a small weekly points advantage, or save a bunch of it for big splashes at the end of the season.
What the budget means
Stronger powers start you with less money. In an Extreme league, a team holding Old Money drafts with $250 of auction budget against the $200 baseline. Either way it starts the season with $250 of free-agent bidding money. Choosing a power is choosing a trade-off.
